Eat Food. Mostly Plants.

So while you can't really go wrong when you're eating real foods, it turns out that some foods are better for you than others. This section is probably the hardest for me. It tells me to eat things that I don't mind eating, but aren't my favorite. But since I've cut out 90% of the things I was previously eating, I had to eat something. A lot of the rules in this section I've heard before and ignored, so I'm leaving out some of the common ones (especially since I'm still ignoring them!).

Eat Food.

How hard should it be to find and eat real food? Apparently, it's pretty difficult because that's the first rule in Michael Pollan's Food Rules. Most of the foods I had been eating fell into the category of "edible food-like substances." Until I realized that these foods were making me sick, I never thought much of it.

Re-Learning How to Eat

About a week or so after watching Food, Inc I came across an interview with Michael Pollan on tv. He was making the rounds to promote his new book Food Rules.

I've heard of Michael Pollan before, but I never read any of his books. I came to know his name through Food, Inc. While watching his interview with Jon Stewart, I kind of felt like it was useful information, but common sense.
